Although there have recently been significant upticks on global expenditure on exploration, it is recognised that in many European markets the current historically low levels of exploration poses a level of risk to the future sustainability of mining operations. A number of industry sources have pointed out that this lack of investment in exploration will eventually catch up and impact negatively on the supply of sites available for exploitation. In this session, we will hear from exploration companies working in the region to address this shortfall, and will hear how pro-exploration legislative action; contemporary exploration technology; and, the use of legacy data are helping regional prospectors gain a competitive advantage.
