Association of British Mining Equipment Companies
The Association of British Mining Equipment Companies (ABMEC) is the only British trade body representing the mining equipment companies. Its members design, manufacture and offer services to the global mining industry.
With a nationwide membership, ABMEC is the voice of SMEs and larger organisations on worldwide platforms where, as an individual, it may be difficult to contribute or participate.
ABMEC supports its members by promoting their products and services worldwide, using several different media, including the Internet, trade missions and exhibition service.
The Bulgarian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA)
The Bulgarian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) is a focal point of private investors, venture capital funds and the entrepreneurial community in Bulgaria. The association works alongside its members to improve the business environment and to drive innovation and growth in the country and the CEE region.
BVCA is committed to popularising the role of private investment as a reliable and sustainable source of funding for growing and established companies. The association represents its members’ interests on a national and international level, actively communicates with institutional and private stakeholders as well as the general public.
BVCA collects data on member activities in private equity and venture capital, and identifies industry players in the ecosystem. Giving voice to the community it represents, BVCA advocates on behalf of the industry to ensure sound public policy that encourages a favourable investment environment in Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology
The Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Industry defends the interests of its members in the formation of the national policy and in the elaboration and perfection of the legal framework in the field of underground resources in Bulgaria. In order to ensure maximum protection of the interests of its member organizations BCMG is working in partnership with the government authorities and with international organizations; it participates in partnership bodies at the national, industry and regional level, which includes the entering into a sector /industrial/ collective labour contract. The Chamber realizes business contacts and cooperation with local and international organizations for the exchange of experience by promoting the attraction of Bulgarian and foreign investment to the industry. BCMG provides consultations to its members on problems of labour legislation, on healthy and safe working conditions and social interrelations. The Association renders assistance in the exchange of information between its members including by arranging their participation in international exhibitions and fairs and providing market information on the creation of strategies for competitiveness.
CONFEDEM
CONFEDEM main purpose is protecting the interests of their members, in front of the European Union, the Central and Regional Governments, Local Authorities and other entities and represents mining related companies, from extractive to metallurgy including engineering and consulting of a private or public nature. It extends its performance to all kind of matters (economic, tax, social, environmental, research and development etc..,) covering globally the issues that can arise from the afiliates bussiness activities.
CONFEDEM transversely encompasses almost the entire mining and entrepreneurship in our country, gathering directly at national level to the two most important both Energy Sector Federations as the Aggregates and Natural and Built (CARBUNION and FENAMI) and indirectly and through this last four sub-regional organizations and provincial level (AEPA Castilla La Mancha; ACANGRA; AEEM and AFAREM, AMINER in Andalucia) along with a large and distinguished group of major Spanish companies composed of both national groups and marking renowned internationally, as MAXAM, nationwide, or SAMCA Group, for leading companies such as ; Atlantic Copper (Freeport Mcmoran Copper & Gold Inc); ICL Iberia; Valoriza Minería (SACYR Group); Cobre Las Cruces (FIRST QUANTUM); Berkeley Minera Spain; Orovalle (ORVANA); MATSA (MUBADALA), Atalaya Mining, etc ..., covering Coal; Zinc; Industrial Minerals; Nickel; Argent, Gold; Lead; the sodium and potassium salts; Uranium; Wolfram; Tin, Tantalium, Copper and its Hydrometallurgy and Metallurgy and the manufacture of explosives.
The European Federation of Geologists (EFG)
The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) is a non-governmental organisation that was established in 1980 and includes today 26 national association members.
EFG is a professional organisation whose main aims are to contribute to a safer and more sustainable use of the natural environment, to protect and inform the public and to promote a more responsible exploitation of natural resources.
EFG’s members are National Associations, NAs, whose principal objectives are based in similar aims. The guidelines to achieve these aims are the promotion of excellence in the application of geology and the creation of public awareness of the importance of geoscience for the society.
European Association for Geoscientists and Engineers
The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is a global professional, not-for-profit association for geoscientists and engineers with approximately 19,000 members worldwide. It provides a global network of commercial and academic professionals to all members. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits.
All members of EAGE are professionally involved in (or studying) geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and mineral exploration, civil engineering, tunneling and environmental matters.
EAGE operates two divisions: the Oil & Gas Geoscience Division and the Near Surface Geoscience Division.

Geological and Mining Association of Serbia (GRAS)
In 2014 Serbia mining industry has established the Geological and Mining Association of Serbia (GRAS), first and biggest business association of mining companies in Serbia. Association gathers most of the foreign and private domestic exploration and mining companies, and geological and mining consulting companies from Serbia. GRAS is founded to represent and advocate mining industry, provide coordination between mining companies from the private sector and other interested parties, to advance the general understanding, prominence, and future potential of the geo-mining industry in Serbia, introduce best practice in geo-mining regulation, improve government and public awareness of best practice to mining, cutting red tape, etc. Since founding, GRAS has had a proactive role in drafting mining law, with the final outcome of adoption of current mining law with security of tenure defined for the first time in Serbian mining history. GRAS is proud member of EUROMINES.
IAEG
The International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) was founded in 1964 and is affiliated to the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). IAEG is a worldwide scientific society with more than 5,200 members and 59 national groups. The official languages of the IAEG are English and French.
The aims of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment are:
to promote and encourage the advancement of Engineering Geology through technological activities and research to improve teaching and training in Engineering Geology, and to collect, evaluate and disseminate the results of engineering geological activities on a worldwide basis.
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) is a major UK engineering institution whose activities encompass the whole materials cycle, from exploration and extraction, through characterisation, processing, forming, finishing and application, to product recycling and land reuse. It exists to promote and develop all aspects of materials science and engineering, geology, mining and associated technologies, mineral and petroleum engineering and extraction metallurgy, as a leading authority in the worldwide materials and mining community.
IOM3 was formed from the merger of the Institute of Materials and the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy in June 2002. Its roots go back to the Iron and Steel Institute which was established in 1869. It received Royal Charters in 1899 and 1975. It merged with the Institute of Packaging (2006) and the Institute of Clay Technology (2006). In the Summer of 2009 the Institute reached an agreement with the Institute of Wood Science to transfer all its members and activities to IOM3. In November 2010, IOM3 also embraced the activities and membership of the Institute of Vitreous Enamellers.

Scientific and technical union of mining, geology and metallurgy in Bulgaria
NTS under MDGM is a voluntary, non-governmental, politically unrelated, non-profit creative and professional association. More than 1,500 scientists, engineers, technicians and other mining, geology and metallurgy specialists, as well as legal entities from the country and abroad, are associated with this activity. The Union is an association for private benefit and acts in favour of its members. NTS is a regular member of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Unions in Bulgaria and since 2003 has started the replacement of the membership cards with new federal alliances.
There are 14 regional organizations, 34 scientific and technical societies and clubs and 6 integrated units. The collective members of the Union are currently 25.
